Day 1: Airport transfer to Kigali City
Upon your arrival at Kigali airport meet our guide/driver, who will welcome you and brief you about the trip. Most importantly transfer to your reserved hotel for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Half Board
Day 2: Transfer to Ntarama Genocide Memorial and Akagera National Park
After your breakfast, you will transfer to Ntarama and visit the genocide memorial to see thousands of Rwandese who lost their lives. Besides that, have lunch, thus transfer to Akagera National Park for an evening boat ride along the Lake Ihema to spot a variety of birds and animals. Dinner and overnight at Akagera game lodge / Camping site. Meal plan: F / B
Day 3: Visit Akagera National Park
After your breakfast, we will take a stunning scenic Game drive to spot a variety of wildlife and birdlife species. After we shall relax at the lodge, have dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Full Board
Day 4: Butare and Nyanza
After breakfast, we will set out to Butare to visit the Cathedral of Kabgayi, the Rwanda National Museum and the ancient King’s palace at Nyanza, you will get to experience Rwandan art. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Full Board
Day 5: Butare and Chimpanzee tracking Nyungwe Forest National Park
After your breakfast, enjoy the performing art live at the museum. Lunch en route and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, spending the evening at a tea plantation. Dinner and Overnight at Nyungwe forest lodge / Gisakura guest house. Meal plan: Full Board
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest National Park
Have breakfast, prepare for a briefing from the ranger’s session before setting out into Nyungwe Forest National Park for Chimpanzee trekking, most importantly, enjoy a full hour with these beautiful and playful creatures, and take plenty of pictures of your experience with them. Return to your lodge for lunch and later visit the tea plantations. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Full Board
Day 7: Visit Kibuye and Lake Kivu
After breakfast, transfer to Kibuye a place endowed with beautiful scenery, visit the Bisesero genocide memorial, lunch en route, continue to Kibuye – Nyange school genocide memorial and a boat ride to Amahoro Island, the Island of Peace. Dinner and overnight at a recommended hotel in Kibuye. Meal plan: Full Board
Day 8: visit Gisenyi and Lake Kivu
Have breakfast and thereafter depart to Gisenyi to visit the fishing village, and hot springs, visit the DRC-Rwanda border (Gisenyi town) and relax at the lakeside in the evening. Dinner and overnight at your booked safari lodge on the shores of Lake Kivu.
Day 9: visit Hot springs and Kinigi
After breakfast, you will visit Kinigi to experience traditional dancing and singing alongside Rwandan drums. Get involved in preparing Rwandan local cuisines. Meal plan: Full Board
Day 10: visit Rwanda Twin Lakes
Wake up ready for a great fishing adventure at Lake Ruhondo where you will learn about local fishing methods. Continue on your adventure to visit Street Children Project in Ruhengeri. After lunch, you will visit the beer brewing plants and learn the process of making typical Rwandan beer and most importantly get a taste of it. Dinner and overnight at Kinigi guest house. Meal plan: Full Board
Day 11: Gorilla trekking Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a gorilla tracking briefing to help you get some useful information about these creatures as well as the do’s and don’ts while in their presence. Besides that, you will enter the forest to search the shy mountain Gorillas. The trekking may be full/half day depending on the movement of these gentle giants. You will be allowed an hour with the gentle giants to enjoy them with plenty of pictures, observing their movements. Later you will retire for the day. Meal plan: Full Board
Day 12: Transfer to Kigali and Departure
