Detailed itinerary for 6 days Amboseli Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara
DAY 1 & 2: Tansfer from Nairobi to AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Upon arrival at the airport in Nairobi, meet up with Simba African Expeditions’ representative, have a short briefing with the driver/guide. Then transfer to Amboseli National Park to encounter elephants with majestic views of Mt Kilimanjaro. Have lunch in Amboseli, later head out for an afternoon game, and retire to the lodge. The next day, drive through the lakebed, spotting wildlife like cheetahs, buffalo, giraffes, gazelles and herds of elephants. Return to the booked lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 3: Transfer from AMBOSELI to LAKE NAIVASHA
After morning breakfast, depart to Lake Naivasha; on arrival, check in and have lunch with a short relaxation at the lodge. Later in the afternoon, enjoy a boat ride to the crescent island. Animals encountered include herds of wildebeest, waterbuck, zebra, gazelle and hippos that graze all over at night and later sleep under the acacia. Hyenas hunt at night, and groups of buffalo are always monitored. Return to lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 4: Transfer from LAKE NAIVASHA to MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
Wake up to breakfast, check out of the lodge, and transfer to the Masai Mara National Reserve, where the annual migration of over one million wildebeest is spotted. Upon arrival in time for lunch at the booked camp, relax and, later in the afternoon, head out for a game drive in Masai Mara. Spend the afternoon on safari in Kenya’s most popular reserve. Arrive back in camp in time for campfire cocktails and dinner.
DAY 5: Game drives in MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
Your day will be spent on safari in Africa’s richest wildlife viewing arena. Historically teeming with wildlife, the Mara hosts Kenya’s largest lion prides and elephant herds. Other predators include leopards, cheetahs and spotted hyenas, while in the Mara River you will see fat pods of hippos and vast Nile crocodiles. Other highlights include giraffes, gazelles, zebras, buffalo and over 550 species of birds. Enjoy a nature walk around the camp.
DAY 6: Transfer from Masai Mara to NAIROBI
After breakfast, check out of camp in Masai Mara as you set out on your journey back to Nairobi. Drive back down the Great Rift Valley to Nairobi, passing the dormant volcano, Mount Longonot, and Naivasha on the way. Keep an eye out for herds of giraffe and gazelle and head up the escarpment. You will arrive in Kenya’s bustling capital city, Nairobi, in the late afternoon. Spend time doing last minute shopping with lunch on your own account. Later transfer to the airport for your flight out.
