Detailed itinerary for 6-days Primates Tracking Safaris in Uganda

Day 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park & hike at lake Nkuruba

Our driver or guide will pick you up from the hotel or place of residence after breakfast at 7:00 am drive through Mityana and arrive at Kibale Forest National Park at lunchtime. Check in to your reserved safari lodge, refresh and have lunch. After lunch go for a hike at lake Nkuruba to view the crater lakes plus the beautiful scenery later return to the safari lodge for dinner and overnight

Day 2: chimpanzee tracking Kibale & Bigodi nature walk.

After early morning breakfast, transfer to the park offices for a briefing by the rangers with packed lunch. After the briefing, you will go to the starting point by 8 am to start the trek in the forest. You will get to know how chimpanzees interact and have photos for memories. Later return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch head out for an evening, nature walk in the Bigodi swamp to spot more wildlife including birds and monkeys, and later returns to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth – Afternoon boat ride on Kazinga channel

After breakfast check out of the lodge and travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park. As you drive to your accommodation, you will be treated to the scenic landscape dotted with beautiful crater lakes, lush grasslands, and occasional. Arrive at the safari lodge, have lunch, and later set out for the afternoon boat ride on the Kazinga Channel – a natural stream of water joining Lakes Edward and George.

The channel is home to a variety of wildlife and attracts big game to drink water and cool off the heat. Expect to see lots of hippos, buffaloes, elephants, crocodiles, monitor lizards, and so many birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Morning game – transfer to Bwindi National Park

Wake up for an early cup of tea or coffee and head out for an early morning game drive at 6.30 am. The park is wonderful with lots of big games and very beautiful scenery. Expect to see lions, elephants, Topis, kobs, buffaloes, hyenas, and leopards to mention but a few. Return to your accommodation for lunch, check out and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Pass through Ishasha viewing the tree-climbing lions. Arrive in the evening and check in to your reserved lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Gorilla tracking Bwindi & Batwa community walk

Wake up for an early breakfast at 6:30 am, pick packed lunch and enough drinking water, transfer to the park offices for a briefing by the rangers and assign a gorilla group you shall track. By 8:00 am you will transfer to the forest to trek the Gorillas. After about an hour, return to the lodge for a snack, refresh and then later visit the local Batwa community to see indigenous ways of living and enjoy their vibrant songs and dances. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, check out and get ready for the journey. Lunch en-route in Mbarara, have another stop over at the Uganda equator for photos and purchasing some gifts, proceed to Kampala, and drop off at your desired destination.
