1-day gorilla trekking safari in Rwanda will begin and end in Kigali, one of the ranked Africa’s cleanest capital cities, you’ll head to Volcanoes National Park, which was formed by enormous volcanoes, but is mostly known for its rain forest, mountain gorillas and golden monkey for trekking adventure, both of which are critically endangered species. Rwanda also has the 160-square-kilometer Volcanoes National Park in the country’s northwest, as well as the Virunga Mountain National Park, which is about two hours’ drive journey from the country’s international airport.

The park is a home to ten habituated mountain gorilla families, totaling to approximately 300 gorillas in the forest, as well as two habituated golden monkey groups, each containing approximately 80 to 90 individuals. Furthermore, tourists can visit the national park all throughout the year.

Detailed itinerary for gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park.

Early in the morning, our driver guide will pick you up at your hotel or Kigali Airport and drive you to Volcanoes National Park, which is about a two-hour drive away. For gorilla tracking and some primate trekking (golden monkeys). But first of all, you’ll check-in at the briefing point or headquarters to learn the dos and don’ts while tracking, and later on continue with your journey to track mountain gorillas for about two to three hours in the green rain forest with your packed lunch. After that, you’ll later head back to the park headquarters and travel back to your hotel or drop off at the international airport.
