Detailed itinerary for 12-days Uganda Safaris and Primate tracking

Day 1: visit to sezibwa falls, Mabira and Nile Jinja.

After breakfast, our driver or guide transfers you from Kampala to Jinja highway and the first branch off to Sezibwa falls Buganda’s cultural heritage, continue to Mabira rainforest for nature water and bird watching. After driving to Jinja, check into your reserved accommodation for lunch besides that head out for a boat ride to the source of the Nile. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Transfer to Sipi falls and tea plantation visit.

Have your breakfast, checkout of the lodge and head to Sipi Falls, check into the lodge have lunch, and most importantly head out for a 3 – 4 hour trek up and down the foothills of mountain Elgon, visiting each of the three waterfalls and enjoying spectacular vistas from up mountain Elgon to the flat plains of Karamoja in the distance. Later transferred to tea plantations thus returning to the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Pian Upe wildlife reserve

Early breakfast, drive from Sipi falls to Pian Upe, the journey roughly takes 2 hours, check into your reserved lodge, refresh and transfer to a game drive in the plains of the reserve where you will see roan antelope, cheetahs, the greater kudu and lots of bird species like an ostrich. Return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for cultural community visits. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After early breakfast, embark on a drive to the north of Uganda and get to Kidepo Valley National Park – arguably Africa’s most spectacular wilderness. lunch en-route. arrive at the park late in the afternoon and transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park

Have an early breakfast then head out for a game drive. the park is endowed with remarkable wilderness and lots of wildlife including cape buffaloes, African elephants, Rothschild’s giraffe, ostriches, and gazelles. Return for lunch at the lodge before heading out again into the wilderness for more adventure. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Murchison falls national park

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Murchison Falls National Park – Uganda’s largest game park. You will stop over in Gulu town for lunch en route. Getting to Murchison Falls National Park in the evening, transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Morning game drive and afternoon boat ride

An early cup of tea or coffee at 6:00 am and at 6:30 am set off for the game drive. Expect the sighting of lions, Jackson’s hartebeests, lots of savanna birds and wonderful scenery. After, return for breakfast and lunch. Later set out for the afternoon launch cruise along the Nile to the base of the Murchison Falls. Spotting lots of wildlife sighting along with the Nile, including most importantly; Hippos, crocodiles, Cape Buffaloes, and lots of water birds. You can opt for the launch and hike along the falls to the top of the fall to meet your driver at the top and transfer back to your lodge.

Day 8: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

Have breakfast check out of the lodge and leave for Kibale Forest National Park. the drive along the scenic Albertine rift valley continues. You will stop over in Fort portal town for lunch before proceeding to the reserved safari lodge and spend the day relaxing and enjoying the natural environment outside at the lodge.

Day 9: Chimpanzee tracking then transfer to Queen Elizabeth with a boat ride

Have breakfast at 6:30 am and transfer to the park offices for briefing. by 8:00 am you trek into the jungle to find the Chimpanzees and sight a lot of wildlife. you will spend 1 hour with the chimpanzee, to see how they interact as you take photos. besides that drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park arriving late afternoon check into your reserved lodge and later head out for an evening boat ride at 4:00 pm on the Kazinga channel – a natural stream of water joining lakes Edward and George with an opportunity to see lots of hippos, monitor lizards, and so many birds. Dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Morning game drive – transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

An early cup of tea or coffee and head out for a morning game drive at 6:30 am. the Park is wonderful with lots of big games and very beautiful scenery. expect to see lions, elephants, topis, kobs, Cape buffaloes, hyenas, and leopards. after embarking on the journey to Bwindi national park lunch en route, check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 11: Gorilla tracking Bwindi and Batwa community

Have breakfast, pick a packed lunch, and transfer to the park offices at 7:30 am for a briefing by the rangers. you’re assigned the habituated gorilla group you shall track and by 8:00 am set off into Bwindi forest to find the gorillas. you spend an hour with the gorillas, return to find your driver, and refresh, later visit the Batwa community. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12: Transfer from Bwindi to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, check out and get ready for the journey. Lunch en route in Mbarara, have another stopover at the equator for photos and purchasing some gifts, proceed to Kampala and drop off at your desired destination.
