Detailed itinerary for 3 days Gorilla tracking Mgahinga and Golden Monkey
Day 1: Travel to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After your breakfast at your place of overnight stay, you will be picked up by your driver or safari guide to begin your journey to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Have a stop at the Uganda Equator for some souvenir shopping, coffee, and taking pictures, and continue with your drive. A lunch stop will be made at Agip Motel for a Ugandan mouthwatering buffet. After lunch, embark on your journey to Mgahinga. Upon your arrival, you will check into your booked safari lodge for dinner and overnight. Get some rest from the exhaustion of the day’s long-haul journey. Meal plan: H/B
Day 2: Gorilla tracking Mgahinga or Pygmy experience and Golden Monkey
Have your breakfast, and then you’ll go to the park headquarters to attend a short briefing before your gorilla tracking activity begins. When you return from your adventurous time with the Nyakagezi gorilla family, you will go back to the lodge to get a few minutes to relax and get some refreshments before your Batwa experience. It is such a great time of learning and getting entertained with this unique group commonly referred to as the “Pygmies,” originally from the Ituri rainforest in Congo, and thus giving you a little taste of Central African culture. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B
Day 3: Viewing the platform while exiting the park.
You’ll check out of the safari lodge after having your breakfast and drive to the park viewing point, which is 800 km from the gate. At this point, you’ll get the most scenic view of the park and the surrounding places around; take plenty of pictures as you like, and we shall then proceed with the journey back to Kampala with a lunch stop at the Igongo Cultural Centre.
