Detailed itinerary for 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth National Park safari

Day 1: Travel to Lake Mburo National Park/boat cruise

Wake up to an early morning breakfast and around 6:30 am, your driver will pick you up to begin your journey to Lake Mburo National Park. You will have a stop at the Uganda equator to stretch your legs, have a cup of coffee and get some souvenirs that you will take back home with you. You will then embark on your journey to Lake Mburo. Upon your arrival, you will check into your booked safari lodge and have lunch. Get some time to relax as you wait for the late afternoon boat cruise, a good chance to see lots of aquatic birds and Hippos. Return from your boat cruise for an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight. Meal plan: H/B

Day 2: Morning game drive transfer to Queen Elizabeth – Ishasha

This will be quite an early break of the day. You will kick start your day with a cup of authentic Ugandan tea or coffee and set out for an early morning game drive, a good chance to see lots of wild game as they arise from their slumber to feel the warmth of the African sun. Return to your lodge after the game drive, freshen up real quick and have breakfast, check out of the safari lodge and exit the park driving straight to Queen Elizabeth National Park with your packed lunch. Drive through the Ishasha sector of the park for a chance to see the tree-climbing lions that can only be found in this part of Uganda. You will then continue to your booked safari lodge and check in for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B

Day 3: Boat cruise and two game drives.

Wake to a fresh cup of coffee or tea and set out for an early morning game drive to catch the early morning risers and if lucky you will get to see lots of wild game as well. You will then return to your lodge for a full breakfast. Get some time to freshen up and relax as you wait for lunch and another adventure that awaits you on the Kazinga channel later in the afternoon, you will be amazed at the prolific bird life at this point and the large concentration of hippos and other animals like elephants, buffaloes that come to quench their thirst or cool off from the hot afternoon sun. Return from the adventurous game drive to hit the game tracks in a different sector for an evening game drive that will enable you to catch a glimpse of some action (if you are lucky), especially the cats that are active at this time looking for the perfect prey for dinner. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B

Day 4: Kyambura Gorge and crater lakes

After breakfast, you will head out to Kyambura Gorge; get a picture at the viewing point, it is such a magical spot here. After your briefing, you will head straight into the forest to begin your tracking of man’s closest relative, the chimpanzees. When you return from your wonderful experience with these beautiful creatures, you will head back to the safari lodge for lunch and get some time to relax. After your lunch, you will set out again to explore the crater Lakes of this beautiful national park. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: F/B

Day 5: Travel back to Kampala

After breakfast, you will check out the safari lodge and begin your journey back to Kampala. You will have a stop at Igongo cultural centre for lunch and get some time to take lots of pictures to remind you of this interesting place. Continue with your journey to Kampala and you will be dropped off at your desired location. Meal plan: H/B
