Detailed itinerary for 5 days Primates habituation Uganda safaris

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi nature walk

After breakfast at 6:00 am, the driver guide will transfer you to Kibale Forest National Park at 6:30 am, have a stop over in Fort portal for lunch and then continue to your reserved safari lodge, check-in, refresh and transfer to Bigodi swamp, spot wildlife including birds, monkeys and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee habituation experience in Kibale National Park

After early morning breakfast at 6:00 am, the driver or guide will transfer you to the park offices for a briefing by the rangers with your packed lunch. After the briefing, you’ll go to the starting point by 8:00 am to start the habituation experience in the forest, which takes 4 hours to a full day. You’ll get to know how chimpanzees interact and have photos for memories. Get an opportunity to see other animals like Red colobus, vervet monkeys, and African Forest Elephants among others. Later return to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up to a cup of tea or coffee, and embark on your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, lunch en-route and arrival will be late in the afternoon. Check into your reserved lodge have dinner and relax.

Day 4: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Wake up at an early breakfast at 6:00 am, pick packed lunch and transfer to the park offices for a briefing by the rangers. By 8:00 am you will transfer to the forest to habituate the gentle giants. You’ll spend 4 and more hours with these gorillas, taking photos learning about their behaviours and more about their life. Return to your accommodation late in the afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Breakfast – checkout – transfer to Kampala / Entebbe

After breakfast, check out and get ready for the journey. Lunch en route in Mbarara, have another stop over at the Uganda Equator for photos and purchasing some gifts, proceed to Kampala and drop off at your desired destination.
