Detailed itinerary for 7-days Uganda Safaris and Wildlife Adventure
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Murchison falls and Rhino tracking.
Have early breakfast and prepare for pick up from your hotel. Drive northwards on the Kampala – Gulu for approximately two and half hours and get to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Set out for a hike on the sanctuary to track the White Rhinos. After close to two hours of trekking, get back on the road and get to Masindi for your lunch, thereafter, proceed to Murchison Falls National Park. Check-in at your accommodation, relax, have dinner and rest the night.
Day 2: Morning game drive – afternoon boat ride
Wake up to an early cup of tea/coffee at 6.00 am and at 6:30 am set off for the game drive. Expect sighting of Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, Giraffes, Jackson’s Hartebeests, Reedbuck, Uganda Kobs, Warthogs, lots of savanna birds and wonderful scenery. After, return to your accommodation for breakfast and lunch. Later set out for the afternoon Launch Cruise along the Nile to the base of the Murchison Falls.
There are lots of wildlife sightings along the Nile, including, Hippos, crocodiles, Buffaloes, Elephants, and lots of water birds. At the base of the falls, you can opt for the Launch and hike along the falls to the top of fall. You meet the driver at the top and transfer back to your lodge.
Day 3: Chimpanzee TRACKING BUDONGO & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth
After breakfast, transfer to Budongo forest to track Chimpanzee with packed lunch, you will be guided by skilled ranger guides who know much about the primates, as you track there is a chance of seeing other animals like monkeys’ snakes and bird’s species. Then head for Queen Elizabeth National Park. Have lunch en-route, after lunch, continue to the park and check into your reserved accommodation refresh, have dinner and rest.
Day 4: Morning game drive and afternoon boat on Kazinga channel
Wake up to an early cup of tea/coffee at 6:00 am and set out for an early game drive. Games to see include Lions, Buffaloes, Elephants, Hyenas, Kobs, and Topis. The scenery is amazing with crater lakes and grassy hills. After, return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax, refresh and after lunch, set out for the Boat Safari on the Kazinga Channel that joins Lakes Edward and George. The channel attracts a plethora of wildlife including Hippos, Buffaloes, Elephants, Monitor Lizards and lots of water birds and wonderful scenery.
Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, check out and travel to Lake Mburo National Park. Upon arrival at Lake Mburo, drive through the game trails and view a number of wildlife including zebras, impalas, buffaloes, elands, waterbucks, birds, and marvelous scenery. Continue to check in at your accommodation, refresh, and have lunch. Later set out for a relaxing evening boat ride on Lake Mburo and also view some wildlife including hippos and several birds. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal plan: Breakfast, lunch and dinner
Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive with an opportunity to see the early risers like zebras, impalas, buffaloes, elands, waterbucks, African Buffalo, Oribi, Leopards and many bird species. Continue to the lodge for breakfast and lunch then transfer to an afternoon boat cruise with a chance of spotting Hippos, Buffalos and crocodiles. Transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Guided Nature walk – travel back to Kampala / Entebbe
Wake up for an early morning nature walk into the park for a chance to view some nocturnal wildlife at close encounter. An armed ranger leads you. Alternatively, you could opt for a horse ride for this experience. Return for breakfast, check out and travel back to Entebbe to catch your evening flight back home. Lunch is en-route. You also get to make a stopover at the Uganda Equator point for some picture moments.
