Murchison Falls game drive is an exhilarating wildlife game viewing adventure in an opened-savanna, woodland with forest patches and riverine ecosystem which covers an area of 3893 km2. Murchison Falls National Park has two areas where game drive is done; that is northern sector which is the best for game drives because of the grassy savanna peninsula which is in-between Victoria and Albert Nile (Nile Delta and Buligi peninsula), Paraa area which is near Paraa Safari Lodge has great view, most especially during the morning and evening game viewing along the Nile banks for cape buffalos and Nile crocodiles and the southern sector although southern sectors’ most favored activities includes bird watching, chimpanzee trekking in Budongo forest and guided forest walk, however it’s limited for game drives

- Morning game: which always commence from (6:30 – 10:30am) for early morning sunrise with a beautify scenery and favorable cool temperatures of the park to spot the predators which includes leopards, lions, spotted hyenas and side striped jackal.
- Afternoon game drive: that starts at (3:00 – 6:30pm) is that moment for sunset and offers favorable spotting for herbivous animals which includes Rothschild’s giraffes, African elephants, Cape buffalo and Uganda kob.
- Night game drives: rarely conducted between (6:30 – 9:30pm), however if it’s booked it must be carried out under supervision of an armed ranged and it’s best for spotting nocturnal animals such as civets, bush babies, genets and birds like nightjars and African owl
Best seasons for game drive in Murchison Falls National Park
- Dry season: which are always peak seasons that is (December – March) and (June – October) as the grassy savanna is clear to spot and tracks are easy to pass through while most wildlife concrete on the riverbank for water.
- Wet season: in the months of (April – May and November) wildlife are tricky to spot although they are abundant and muddy tracks make it difficult to pass through.

In the park, all game drives are done in a customized 4×4 safari vehicles with a pop-up roof for photography and clear sighting, charged depending on the car, the person and the time: for foreign non-residence it’s $45 per person; for foreign residence, it’s $35 per person; for Rest of Africa, it’s 30,000 UGX; for East African, it’s 25,000 UGX and for a safari vehicle entrance, it’s 40,000 UGX.
